A poem that inspires you to find rest in the hope of heaven!

When at last

I am hard pressed

I take flight

in chaotic stress

I travel to

the resting place

I seek the presence

of unseen grace.

I go and walk to

a space of green

when my spirit is  low,

my endurance lean.

I rest upon

the

holy ground

where remains below,

are only found.

No more laughter

no counsel to share,

only silence,

I find there.

All my hopes

beneath the ground

unending  joy,

in a smile was found.

I can no more,

relive this past.

I must move on,

as shadows cast.

and yet I have

within my heart

a flame afire,

where longs part.

Standing up

upon my feet

I return

to life’s long street

I found not rest

nor comforts love

it’s only found in

heaven above

The epitaph’s

silent refrain

eternal hope,

my only gain.

Golden sun

sets on the day

I slowly turn

to walk away

This resting place

tells me to live

I now return

with more to give

Until I depart

from earthly space

 heavens door gives me

 My resting place.

Get out of the Box! Words to help you bust out of your comfort zone

Get out of the Box

Words to help you bust out of your comfort zone

The Box

by Tracey Lynn Russell

I have a little box

for my little life.

It’s the place

where I fit

my family, my church and my children

neat and tidy

 in the  box-

Four predictable corners of cardboard!

God is in the box with me-

or at least I thought so?

One day, my little box began to shake!

It even felt a little crowded!

The sides of the box began to rip open with a sharp divine purpose

that felt like a box cutter!

Suddenly

the box burst open with unseen hands tearing down the walls

Know what?

God is not in

the box

the box-2

My boxed in perspective of life crumbled

with a divine perspective.  Life can’t be boxed in

when

God  is everywhere,

all the time, working all around,

outside, underneath and all over the world.

You can’t stop Him, harness Him, control Him, demand of Him or figure Him out.

If I serve a big God, how could I ever desire my life to stay in the box of my comfort?

I must resist the box.

To know that God  is out of the box is my greatest comfort

because

it’s hard to live a life

pre-packaged,  just like everyone else.

The box tempts my false sense of security.

At times when I am afraid

I want to scream,

” Everyone get back in the box! It’s safe, secure and comfortable there!”

But it really isn’t safe there

It really wasn’t comfortable

God won’t let me go back in the box!

His hands keeps pulling apart

the cardboard facades of those who love him

because

He is an unseen wall of protection.

God didn’t create a brown, boring life!

His world outside the box is full of multi-colored moments,

the adventure of a lifetime

 God

 fills

the whole earth,

the sky,

the stars,

the heavens

and

my heart

with more that I can

dream or imagine

You know what ?

I no longer can fit in

the box.

Ask God How to live : Radical Acceptance and 50 things the Holy Spirit can Do for you

Radical Acceptance

“Earthly wisdom is doing what comes naturally. Godly wisdom is doing what the Holy Spirit compels us to do.” —Charles Stanley

Live

Live

Have you ever experienced a pain so deep that you did not want to live with the reality of that loss?

Fighting  Reality !

It’s was hard for me to accept what I didn’t want to be true.

I lived trapped in a world of why after my nephew died. Why God Why? Then my mother, best friend, died five months later and again I mourned with the another question of why.

Why ?

The world of why demands answers that will only be received in heaven. The unanswered questions of “why”  kept me me stuck trying to fix the past and prevent failure in the future.

We wonder why in time of loss as our minds refuse to accept our new reality. Click To Tweet

Accept Reality

Reality acknowlegdes that the plans of our life have radically changed and the only way to move forward is radical acceptance.

Radical acceptance is a concept developed by Marsha Linehan.

Radical acceptance is accepting life as it is and not as we would wish it to be Click To Tweet.

It doesn’t mean you like or approve of it, it just means you are willing to accept what you cannot change or choose.

After about three weeks of crying on the floor and asking God for an answer, my door bell rang. I opened the door to find a friend with a gift for me.

I opened the gift and the picture frame held a one word answer for me…..

The picture frame said –

LIVE!

God was calling me to live in the reality of my losses without trying to change!

Live!

Even when I felt like I wanted to die

Live!

Even when I didn’t like being alone without my mother or my nephew

I found my verse to accompany my call to live;

Psalm 118:17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

Are you having hard time living with the reality of your radical change of plans?

I have some good news. Through daily prayer, I began to experience the power of the Holy Spirit who could help me radically accept and live again.

God promises that He will give us His spirit when we don’t know how to live.

Maybe you need to be encouraged with what the Holy spirit can do for you?

Here is a list of 50 things as quoted by the blog of Frank Viola in Beyond Evangelical :

What God would say to a Mom when her child struggles

What GOd Says

My Child My Child!

Why are you  suffering in regard to your child?

Do you not realize it is I who have formed them and placed them

within your life for my great purpose?

These are purposes beyond your reach, beyond any human effort you could try to obtain.

I watch you toil in vain, in agony over your limited but beautiful efforts.

You are not able to do what only can be accomplished through my spirit.

I see such love in your heart and I only ask that you pray for the wisdom I promise to give you.

I have promised the protection your child needs.

I have promised the strength you need and the power to overcome obstacles

Do you trust me, Daughter?

In that moment of your greatest worry or slightest anxious feeling,

release your child to me in prayer. Click To Tweet

Submit your heart and soul to me as Lord of your family, Master of their care.

Resist the temptation of the evil one to fret or question my power.

When you praise me, these evil thoughts will leave and flee your mind like rats running in fear.

I will be faithful to complete the good work I desire to accomplish in your child- Click To Tweet

Get back up!

Get back up in your trial

How many of you have  been going through a hard trial lately?

Maybe you have been distressed about things either in your out of your control.

I can understand! I feel like this weekend was a mental game of survival for me while negative emotions kept whizzing though my mind like bees out to sting me.

The truth is that I am  in a trial right now of my emotions.

Will I trust God for my children as they get older and develop a faith of their own?

Many times I have felt like I am in a survival game or  mental challenge .

Maybe you know what I am talking about?

I go through my day pretty well and then there is this thought or emotion that seems to come out of no where and POW! I feel like I am lost in a wilderness trying to find my way again.  We can pray about the POW that has seemed to wreck our life) POW stands for plan outta whack!

So here is some encouragement to myself and maybe you- from a survival expert : ( my boys love this show! )

Survival can be summed up in three words – never give up. That’s the heart of it really. Just keep trying.

Today is the day we get back up and start trying again.

A wise woman once told me it’s not that we won’t have any down moments in life, it’s how fast we can get back to trying and moving forward that counts.

Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. Harriet Beecher Stowe Click To Tweet

Dear Lord-

I am asking for you intervention today to turn my difficult situation around. I pray for your divine intervention with hearts that are involved and minds that need to change, including mine. Help me to develop an attitude of joy in my trials, knowing that you are revealing my character and refining my ability to endure to the end. I ask  that you comfort me in this process and make me affect with others throughout my day to bring resolution.

In Jesus Name- Amen-

Blame is mental glue- how to get unstuck!

Blame is Mental Glue!

blame is mental glue

When you blame others, you give up your power to change. Robert Anthony Click To Tweet

Blame is like mental glue!

It attaches your thoughts to anger, injustice

and the crippling effects of a problem.

It sticks to an image of the people who have hurt you and

limits your  focus on the person who can help you heal, YOU!

It adheres your mind to the  “wrong” of others

and ignores any wrong in your own life.

Blame is sticky business because

it can’t give you a solution

it can’t make you feel better

it can’t help you move forward in life

it can’t change your future

Blame labels you a helpless victim and never an overcomer Click To Tweet

How can we start to feel unstuck from Blame?

We can begin to detach from blame by practicing an opposite action found in scripture!

 (Colossians 3:12-13 ESV)

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, sslander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive

You can:

Let go of blaming others and

learn to solve your own problems

seek compassion for those who have hurt you

release your emotional suffering with forgivness

discover new options to promote peace in the future

breath in appreciation and gratitude for the good things in your life

purposefully exhale the negative thoughts

Live in the moment and not the painful past

Trust that all things will be make right in God’s timing

“Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame.

Let the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you.” Ralph Marston

A prayer to get unstuck from Blame:

God, I realize that I have been blaming (a person or a situation) for causing me pain. I acknowledge the wrong that was done to me through this person or situation and I chose to forgive them, in Jesus name. I ask that you would release my negative emotions from this situation and fill me with the knowledge that you will help me as I trust you to reveal to me new solutions and blessings in my future.

Amen.
